Recommendations for Preventive Pediatric Health Care

Jyoti Rawat

The objective of this study was to compare the receipt of preventive health services for children with and without special health care needs and to identify predictors of these health services for children with special health care needs using nationally representative data. Data from the 2002 and 2003 Medical Expenditure Panel Surveys were analyzed. A total of 18 279 children aged 3 to 17 years were included in our study. The Child Preventive Health Supplement was used to identify caregiver recall of specific health screening measures and anticipatory guidance during the previous 12 months. Odds ratios were calculated for predictive factors of preventive services for children with special health care needs.

Outcomes in Paediatric Lenticulostriate Saccular Aneurysms: A Case Report

Saloni Sen

The lenticulostriate artery forms a crucial cog in the cerebrovascular juggernaut that supplies the rain. Despite its miniscule diameter and length, the artery is crucial because it supplies the interior capsule. Infarcts or hemorrhagic strokes of this artery are common owing to the small diameter of the artery and therefore the high-pressure gradient experienced in it. Strokes usually result in a hemiplegia or paresis, which may or may not improve over time. The most common cause for a lenticulostriate stroke is uncontrolled hypertension. T

Multiple Sclerosis disease Phyto-therapy and Physiotherapy

Jyoti Rawat*

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease affecting the central nervous system with no effects on the peripheral nervous system. It belongs to the group of neurological demyelinating diseases. MS is characterized by a triad of an inflammatory reaction, the process of demyelination, and gliosis (scarring). The latter gives the name of the disease (from the Greek word “skleros” meaning “scars”).

Spinal Epidermoid in a Child: A Case Report

Prachi Saxena

Spinal epidermoids are rare, and encompass less than 1% of the lesions seen in the spine. They are seen frequently in association with dysraphism, sinuses and other congenital anomaly of the spine. Aquired epidermoids are seen in conjuncture with repeated lumbar punctures and trauma. The presence of an epidermoid without any of the above mentioned associated lesions or trauma is very rare. We present a case of a de novo epidermoid of the dorsal spine without dysraphism, trauma or syndromic association which was successfully identified and removed surgically with no deficits for the patient. We present a review of relevant literature along with this case report.

Macrocephaly in Leukemic patients

Ankit verma

T-cell ALL is the most prevalent cancer in childhood. Cranial nerve abnormalities and rising of the intracranial pressure had been known as a sign of nervous system involvement but reports of macrocephaly are extremely rare especially as an initial manifestation of the T-cell. For instance, an eight-month-old boy referred to our clinic with bicytopenia and macrocephaly that was diagnosed with T-cell ALL and was successfully treated. An eight month old boy was referred to our hospital presenting with Bicytopenia and Macrocephaly. He his weight was 9 kg and his height was 68 cm at the time of admission (his birth weight and height were 3 kg and 51 cm, respectively. He had no previous history of admission prior to his referral and had no underlying disease. In a month earlier to his referral he was admitted several times because of diarrhea, vomiting and flu like symptom (tachypnea, fever and shivering) which lasted for a month and was treated symptomatically
